Breaking news tonight as the Supreme Court of New York has issued their verdict regarding Edgemont’s appeal of Town Supervisor Feiner’s decision rejecting their incorporation petition.
Judge Susan Cacace of the State Supreme Court declared that the petition met the standards for legal sufficiency and overruled Mr. Feiner’s decision. The town can appeal, which would put on hold any vote, but pending appeal, the court ordered a vote to be held within 40 days. At that point residents of the proposed village will hold a majority rules election to determine whether to incorporate or remain part of Unincorporated Greenburgh.
