Statement on Greenburgh Proposed Capital Budget

On March 7, the Town of Greenburgh released the proposed capital budget for 2017. Details of the budget can be found here.

Those of us involved with Hartsdale Neighbors Association are not municipal finance experts, nor are we close enough to the relevant departments to fairly evaluate the severity of the issues and gaps highlighted in the plan.

However, we all support fiscal responsibility and we expect the town to use appropriate levels of discretion and find the best deal for taxpayers when funding infrastructure and capital projects. This is especially important at the current juncture, when the residents and taxpayers of Greenburgh face significant uncertainty as a result of the Edgemont Incorporation.
